yes actually. After just having bought a property the first half of the year is out for me. The 2nd half ought to be fun.

I may consider running my farm truck at Vic winch now after having a thorough read through the rules.

I think the tyre size for production class is 35's.
I think nowadays 33s are standard sizes tyres and most club type trucks run 35s. Oh yeah, not you! I'm sorry you gotta Disco

Challenge is 37, production is 35, all I am saying is that it doesn't matter what size tyre you run as long as everyone in the same class runs under the same rules for fairness.
What we do in the comp scene however has flow on effects and we need to be mindful of this. When people see the comp guys run 35's and now 37's others follow. Remember back to the early 90's when everyone ran 31's and 33's were big? Slowly but surely everyone creeps up in tyre size just so they can get around in the bush.

A winch challenge event doesn't need to run vehicles with 35's for it to be challenging, difficult or exciting to watch. I am sure the same could be achieved on 33's which would be a damn site cheaper for everyone racing.

the disco runs 35's  but I doubt I will ever stick 37's under it, unless it gets a lot of booty fab.

The Vic Winch is a great idea the whole reason it was bought about in the first place was to give people a feeling of what a winch challenge is about with out having to compete against the big trucks/teams of the day.

I remember my first couple of Vic winchs very well and the advice etc i received from people like Mike Smith,Chippa,Rodger etc was fantastic. You your navi improve and move on to the next step.

Keep running it and keep the format as it should be a steeping stone to the next level

this would be great... seeing that you cant run GU front end. and a 24V winch.

Thats exactly right it ran beautifully last year and by bringing in production class it puts people like me in the middle. I have an 1968 jeep with upgraded brakes and steering only added for reliability i don have twin winch motors or a v8 its still a ford 6 but because i have a upgraded braking system and steering it puts me into challenge class. The two classes rules are to far spread. In production class its all standard but in challenge it spend as much as you can and go nuts!! How is that fair for people like me who only do these mods for reliability, not to improve the performance? Challenge and Trophy worked fine as far as i am concerned.
