Nissan radius arm FLEX design
and thats the point, suspension mods under current laws have very little guidelines, so little can be blue plated. the new national system "should" be better, but i hold little hope.
anyway, we digress.

I see the arms got another second placing in the superior all terrain challenge on the weekend! Their getting consistant competition placings.
Mick from Superior Engineering will be running them in the Mod Truck Challenge at rover park 24th-25th nov for some rockcrawlin and we should see some pretty good flex pics i hope.
We'll see how he goes.

For those who are interested in the road handling of these Super Flex Arms, a customer of mine is very impressed so far.

Robbie Marshal (running the new arms) just got a 2nd overall at the QLD winch championships. He scored 5 out of 10 course victories (may have been a lot better if he didn't have a few lapses in judgement! )
WELL DONE ROB!!
he also ended up 2nd overall for the series. I am glad my beer fuelled idea works sooooo well. congrats to the guys for making them a reality.

Okay here is a bit of a update , We are in production of the 4-5 inch arms and also the 6-7 inch arms .
Late in january 08 we will start on the 3 inch arms as well as a standard arm .
The benefit of the standard arm will be for the guys that are using drop boxes they can just purchase the passenger side arm only for $650 this will give them maximum flex while retaining that nice drop box ride.
We have been getting about 250-260mm " 9-10 inch's " more wheel travel on average when changing to these arms , sounds to good to be tru but it is the facts.
To give you an idea we are fully maxxing out the bushes both up and down travel in the rear pins on 5 inch lifts .
I have just posted on www.superiorengineering.com.au that if you purchase a set of arms and they do not flex more than your current set of radius arms ( ANY OTHER BRAND ) we will happily refund your money .
The best thing about these arms over other systems on the market is they do not change the handling of the vehicle so you still retain a stable vehicle on and of road.

so will you be able to buy a left side only arm to suit a 3/4/5/6" lift for people who already have drop arms?SuperiorEngineering wrote:The benefit of the standard arm will be for the guys that are using drop boxes they can just purchase the passenger side arm only for $650 this will give them maximum flex while retaining that nice drop box ride.
i believe that a "commercial" vehicle with a separate chassis i.e. DX patrol, can have suspension modifications mod plated under the heavy vehicle codes, but you need a heavy vehicle approved person....
Les from BATC had a set of drop boxes blue plated, but that was few years ago now.
Anyway, Superior and Greg have done an amazing job with R&D, congrats guys

IF we sell the passenger side arm only to replace another manufacturers arm we would have to find out the exact drop height of the arms to see if ours are compatible. For example our 4-5 inch arm is exactly 4.5 inch's drop , i do not know what the other guys have manufactured theirs to. Our 6-7 inch arms are 6.5 inch drop and our 3 inch will be exactly 3 inch and standard a copy of a factory arm even in shape.mickyd555 wrote:so will you be able to buy a left side only arm to suit a 3/4/5/6" lift for people who already have drop arms?SuperiorEngineering wrote:The benefit of the standard arm will be for the guys that are using drop boxes they can just purchase the passenger side arm only for $650 this will give them maximum flex while retaining that nice drop box ride.
The other thing to look at is how far they have put their bushes forward so i guess this would be up to the owner of the arms to find out and relay the info to myself from their i can tell you if it is possible.
We have pushed our arms forward a far amount so a spacer may need to be supplied to have our arm the same as the drivers side.
if it is straight forward they would be $650 if we need to manufacture a spacer they may be slightly more expensive.

I doubt you will notice any difference to any other form of castor correction for the 6" lift except you won't have a front sway bar.

I would keep the shocks you have for now. The difference will be that you will use for the full travel of the shocks instead of a little bit.

We have just drawn up the 3 inch and standard arms to suit the lower lifts and the drop boxes.
For the guys who already have other brand arms you will be able to purchase the passenger side arm only in std,3,4.5 and 6.7 inch lifts, and if you have drop boxes you can fit the standard height arms.
Front Bushes are not tearing like the normal style drop radius arms as the rear pins max out in the steel boss and stop flex before the front bushes are to stressed.
In my GQ i was tearing bushes with normal dropped radius arms every few comps, Since changing to the new arms, the bushes have not been tearing.
The rear pin bushes will be the first to wear out as they take all the impact which is no different if you use aftermarket arms or factory arms.
The handling is no different from any other drop radius arm on the market except they get more flex.
I will track down some pics of some trucks with them fitted, most of the arms sold now have not been fitted by us but other 4wd shops and the customers so we dont have a lot of images.
I have also posted on our website that we Gaurantee that if these arms do not flex better than your current arms ftted (any other brand on the market ) we will refund your money .

UPDATE
The 3" lift Radius arms are officially in production now so I am happy to take orders from those who have been eagerly waiting. I expect to start getting sets in a couple of weeks.
I will take some before and after photos of my GU flexed up so everyone gets a good idea on the improvements. I will also do some before and after road testing and detail any differences that I notice in driveability.
For those interested in realising the full benefit of front flex I have designed longer front coils so we can run longer front shocks to rival the guys with the 5" super flex arms. I will be testing these coils also.
I also have some 3" rear coils designed for flex on order to receive heaps of rear flex and I will test these also.
Having said that. There is no need to change your front coils or shocks to receive the massive benefits from these Radius Arms.
