new springs = more noise ??

Post by daveo »

hi all,

put new rear leaves in my 98 hilux on friday and now hve heps of tyre noise. at least im pretty sure its tyre noise. the springs lifted it about 3.5 inches from its former sagged hight (getting the front wound up later this week). the noise is speed related and to me sounds like tyres but ive never had any tyre noise before. running 31 BFG ATs. have checked pressures etc. no detectable slop in the rear uni, may be a small ammount of play in the front uni on the rear tailshaft.

Just wondering if there is anything other than tyres that could be causing it and why has lifting it made such a difference.

cheers
dave
