HJ47 Mirrors

Post by Breeze »

G'day all,

I've just replaced the old mirrors on my '81 HJ47 because they were flopping all around the joint.
I bought 2 new ones from a well know ebay seller, but they are just as bad as the old ones.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way of tightening them up? (besides filling the body with liquid nails).

Cheers,

they should have a couple of phillips head screws to tighten the back of them onto the ball that they swivel on (and to loosen enough to pop them on and off for replacement). The fixed nut on the other end of the screws might be spinning if you've already tried this.

thanks fellas.

It's no so much the head but the swivel on the arm where it connects to the door.
As soon as a truck passes or a branch clips, the arm moves.
Is there any way of tightening the spring assembly?
