new fj 40 q&a
i just got a fj 40 soft top build date 4/78 it is at my old mans place at the moment and i have not seen it ,i only have on concern and that is it only has one id plate rivited to the fire wall which has fj40and then a whole lot of numbers after it,that number is on the old rego sticker,last reg in 06 but there is no plate with frame and engine numbers that my dad can see would or should a car as old as this have any more plates?

do they have just one plate then? i wont be able to see the truck until easter and the old man is half blind but is just want to know how many plates should be on them so i can get rego for it, i checked out a 60 series and it had 2 ,mind you it is a 86 model

You should find the engine number on the block between the distributor and the firewall on the flat section of the casting. Thats where it is on all of mine..
