rego shapes

Post by radste »

today i got a letter from my insurance company telling me that i need to give them more money because my range rover is a panel van and has the potential to carry small goods.i rang them and they told me to ring the rta which didnt help me at all.

has anyone else had this kind of trouble?

my dads car is a discovery that is on rego as a station wagon.

what 4x4 do you own and what is it classified as on your rego papers?

My SWB Sierra (4 Seater) is complied and rego'd as a ute!

Get a dew quotes from other insurance companies.

Most of them will look up your vehicle in Red Book for a value. Pretty sure it's listed as a wagon ... :?

Most 4x4 wagons such as landcrisers, patrols,Landrovers,Pajeros ect ect are classed by the RTA as PVF(panelvan with fittings) PVW (panelvan with windows) PVS (panelvan with seats) plus a few others (these are just the common ones. These shape codes are usually set by DOTARS . Whenever you get a blueslip on these vehicles this is what the inspector will usually put on the application for registration form.

even though they will just cancel your policy, I see it as their screw up, not yours... Why should you have to pay?

Lucky you havent needed a claim, they would tell you to fork orf.

Its actually set by the manufacturers when they submit the forms to DOTARS. That part of the RVD form uses the RTA body shapes.

Go & see your local RTA inspector and see if he can do a change of details form for you. Then you should be able to take that form to the RTA & have the vehicle details changed. That should satisfy your insurance company.

If it doesnt then change insurance companies.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............
