Fan timer relay

Post by chimpboy »

Got a relay out of a disco (along with some other stuff on the EFI loom), which is a "fan timer relay". I understand it's job is to reduce cycling of the engine fan, by keeping it running a bit longer than the temperature switch would.

I don't really need it but if I can hook it in I will; it's got five pins and I can only figure out two - the ones going to brown and black wires.

The others are green/white, black/orange, and black/green.

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with these and knows how the rest would be hooked up to add the delay function to a more old-school fan arrangement.

BTW it is not really a "relay" I don't think; it fits in a relay base but it looks to be all solid-state inside.

Anyone know? No biggie, just curious :)

Cant answer question about timer, although I have one sitting right here in front of me. Tried drawing the circuit diagram but kinda gave up a bit.

Can always try my useles (but works) turbo timer for your fans.
