http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg302/feral_camou/

check it out as a slide show and reverse the order.....cos it's suppose to start with a pic of the 4 SA Teams trucks, which have just left Cape Town in Containers bound for Melbourne and the OBC so I wanted to share the pic Terence sent me......

Then there are pix of the transformation of Ugly Betty into Feral Camou... ;)
All Eugene's hard work tackled alone yet again......busy @ present on the side rails the internal roll cage and then hope to have time/funds to change the bullbar when mounting the High Mount.

I hope it works otherwise I've been talking to myself....AGAIN!

 he he....both Coighty....in transport and driving up to BH, cos it's used daily and run locally on gas with economy in mind, it's too much trouble to remove....
of course he's regretting ever starting now....cos it never seems to end.....but I'm proud of his effort so far, cos it's not half bad......for an old pensoner ;)
remember too.....old people have gas!!!!

Celia your truck is looking good, I noticed the gas bottle as well. When you are vertical up the cliffhanger wall turn it on gas and the car won't stop. Hubby is working hard on your rig, should send him to SA to help Tim's and I finish the Rangies to be ready for the OBC. Good luck with the rest of the work. Gary

Hey Gazza g8 to hear u guys will be back ....how's your fitness routine going?...remember how steep that winch hill is..... ;)
he he re the big tank, i'd prefer to have laughing gas myself.....

Looking 4ward to catching up soon.
We might be heading to the Amazing Race ova Easter and then have Drive4Life in April to the Vic High Country...almost full house of 100 vehicles which means we'll reach our target of $100,000 for Northcott Cripple kiddies and their motorized wheelchairs...woo hooo!

Celia that is fantastic news on the money raised for an excellent cause. You and Eugene are very busy travelling around, it is amazing he gets time to work on the truck.

After doing the Alpine challenge have decided that navi work is for the young ones and this year will be doing most of the driving myself. Tim is putting his truck in OBC and Cliffhanger with his son Tom as navi. I have a new navi in Paul for the OBC and my son Trent for the Cliffhanger.

Still struggling to lose the weight but having been doing some walking. Hoping sitting the drivers seat not to be too physcially challenged.

Thinking this will be my last year as Robyn (partner) and I are planning on doing some normal 4 wheel driving touring around.

Looking forward to catching up with you and Eugene and Sue and Barry Packer at the OBC

Cool ......exo that u will be back driving this year also, will u be in your Rangie???...leave all the hard yakka to the navie's , good idea....that's why I can never understand why the other women entries choose to navie....when driving is far less energetic & so much fun! (well sometimes) ;)
how cool that u guys can also include your son's ......experience something unique together.....yet so challenging to any relationship.

Thankfully the major work on E's truck makeova is almost done...the I roll cage is being installed at present by
MITCHELL BROS OF 4X4 & MORE in Brookvale nsw

Aaron & Ben have been a huge help with all things mechanical and all the other stuff like swopping ova the tanks....replacing bushes etc. on the SWB as well.

Happy prep,g and then retiring to as u say, more normal 4 wheeling......that's our plan also.....apart from finally having money again to do it.

UK vehicles loaded up yesterday... some pics:

My Land Rover

Neil Redpath's Ibex

Gary and James' Rangie (loaded before the camera was out !)

Lastly myself and Pam, we'd been working on the Landy for 30 hours straight with no sleep - don't know about the event being 7 days of sheer hell, the last 7 days have been much harder than the event !

There are a load of pics of my motor and the preparation for the 2008 OBC in this gallery -

The pic doesn't show the size very well but it is huge compared to a Suzuki !

It has a 100" wheelbase and as the caption above the pic says that it is an Ibex. Full title a Foers Ibex - http://www.ibexvehicles.com/

Apart from the bodywork it doesn't have much of the original Ibex in it though. As well as having a non-Land Rover engine (a supercharged GM 6.3 diesel V8) Neil's Ibex has also had the suspension heavily modified away from the original Land Rover derivative design. It now has dynatrac axles and king coil over shocks....

Hope that helps !

That's very.... black, Mal !

I've chilled out a bit now having caught up on sleep and forgotten the feeling of sheer blind panic of the week before it went in the container.

If you choose to play with my "little red corvette" hold on tight to the steering wheel when she kicks down - spinning Simex are a bit unpredictable on tarmac and I only packed one set of spare shafts and CVs :)

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone again, can't wait to get there now.
