lead replacement??

lead replacement??

I have just bought an 85model swb 1.3lt suzi, Can I use straight unleaded or should I put in an additive to replace the lead.??

an expert will probably tell me differently, but suzuki's didnt make there head out of cheese parts, and i have been running unleaded since forever. seems to be ok.
85 LWB w. FRP Canopy
Ca18det conversion in progress, Vit PS, RUF,

thanks mate I will give it a go and see how she performs. I just didnt want to damage a good motor. The guy I got it from says he has been using an additive forever so hopefully I wont wreck it.

ummm i think zook's are all unleaded iv got a 85 swb and it has a stamp on the side (unleaded only)
I dont know squat!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, i should have put head, and internals(eg valves and seals)

Running unleaded in engines made for leaded fuel damages the valve seats by hammering them up into the head.
The term is 'valve seat recession'.
Suzuki's all (4 strokes)have alloy heads and therefore already have hardened valve seats (Stellite) so unleaded is fine with or without additives. :D
