troopy 3F external voltage regulator?

Post by griff »

Anyone help on this one?

Replaced a dodgy alternator (internally regulated) on the FJ75 - got one (without regulator) cheap - how easy is it to 'wire-in' an external regulator? Or should I bite the bullet and buy the internally regulated alternator?

Any recommendations on brands and/or methods.

Nothing too fancy. Vehicle has dual batteries - if that helps!

Thanking in advance,
Griff.

Ordered an internally regulated one, will re-do a few of the earth starps whilst at it too.
