Pajero 2004-2005 Model

Post by andsue »

We are thinking about purchasing a diesel auto does anyone have one and if so what do you think of it offroad and onroad and are they good on fuel consumption. We currently have a GQ Patrol looking to buy a new model four wheel drive.

OK, quick intro to Paj-speak. :D

2004-05 model is commonly referred to as Gen 3, and more specifically, will be referred to as NP.

The diesel auto is an excellent combination, both on road and off, so it's well worth further research. The four wheel independent suspension leads many people to disregard the Gen 3 as a serious off-roader, but they will generally surprise most people with their abilities - even in stock form. They'll never go everywhere you could take your GQ, but, once set up with decent tyres and suspension, they won't be far behind. Add a front diff lock and there aren't too many "tourist" destinations they won't handle with ease.

We have a few members with Gen 3s here, but there's many more over at the Pajero Club forum.

Cheers,

Scott
