roof racks

Post by muddyjunior »

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can help me about roof rack sizes for GQ patrols. I bought one on evilbay and when I went to pick it up it was about 20 mm too wide. The owner assures me that it came from his 89 model and mine is a 88 model. I am having some trouble thinking that gq's may be several different roof widths, yet the fella seemed very genuine and also quite at a loss as to why there was a difference.

GU and GQ are different, but GQ is GQ.. Not sure about grey import Safaris though.

GQ are all the same. Like Bogged says, the Safari is the only one that could be different.

Is it adjustable at all? Otherwise just tell him to jam it...

The roof rack was in St Kilda. I think it measured 1390 apart. Is that GU?

from another thread on racks from bloke who makes em.
OK, I'll give you the goss.
GQ gutters = 1365mm width average
GU gutters = 1313mm width average
GQ rack height from gutter to bottom of rack needs to be about 30mm deeper than a GU.
Regards Andrew.
