What oil pressure should a 2L Diesel (2.4Ltr) run at idle mine is getting down to around 20-22 PSI

Not sure but 20-22 psi sounds fine to me.

Most factory EFI holden 308/304s will idle at about 8-10psi Its common for the oil light to come on as its set at 6psi.

According to toyota repair manual:

at idle : More than 4.3psi
at 3000rpm: 36-85psi

what's the oil pressure cutout switch set to then? When my HJ47's been sitting too long it takes a couple of starts because the oil pressure takes so long to register - so it kills the motor due to lack of oil pressure

Leighroy1984 my 2l motor runs about 20 to 24 psi at idle.
I have a speco gauge connected all the time and never goes below 20.
