update

Post by Hobzee »

OK - things well in progress.

News letter (15 pages) will be emailed to all registered competitors, spectators, officials and sponsors, etc and posted on web site on Jan 31. It will have sponsors, location, suplementary regs, fuel, etc. Refer to www.ironmancliffhanger.com

I went to CCDA meeting on Wed last week - CCDA is NOT pursuing engine size rules. We asked CCDA to have 1 or 2 CCDA delegates present to assist with ensuring courses and water depth, etc is not rediculous and assist with any controversial situation.

Presently there is water in the creek below camp for those who have been before - they will appreciate what this means...

Live entertainment booked for presentation night. She's a big gal so it aint over til the fat lady sings ... as they say.

we anticipate about 50-55 starters. that was our original goal.

we believe 10 plus will pull out to other comittments, personal reasons, etc. We have had already a couple pull out so we are on track.

entries are closed, we are only taking spectator entries.

entries however for the waiting list are being taken but you will not know until the May 31st deadline for compeditors payments, etc

www.ironmancliffhanger.com for your bookings

Hey Rudi have sent a couple of emails direct to you without reply.

Changes to our entry:

Rangie Racing

Driver - Gary Rayment - yes you read that correctly
Navi - Trent Rayment

Going for speed running up hills and in the mud so chucked the old bugger out and put him in the drivers seat. Don't want to read any smart arse remarks about that move.

Repeater

Post by Hobzee »

Can any one help...

We need to set up a repeater on the Ironman Cliffhanger property. It's too big for normal radio comms. 25watt radios can talk to one another but that's about it.

Who do we call or see about setting up a UHF repeater on high ground?

Excellent opportunity for a communications club, etc. Lockee - was Ray Charles at Paj club somehow involved in a mob called WISEN or something like that and is that what they do?

Last call for marshals

Post by Hobzee »

We are now finalising our list of Marshals - we have most spots filled but if you know someone who is keen to Marshal now is the time to get their name on the list. Obvoius benefit is free entry and stacks of fun with catered meals , etc for free. Marshals will each manage 4-5 stages over the week - most day stages lasting 2 days and not running the same thing all week long. If interested please let us know ASAP.

DVD Advertising

Post by Hobzee »

I have had several lengthy discussions with DVD producers FUZZY about how to speed up the production. They are preparing as much as possible before the event as they can such as data entry of teams (drivers and co-drivers' names), credits, etc.

One important aspect is their ability to make money (hey that's a thought) with sales and advertising and this in turn lifts the priority against other paying jobs in the studio. To date there is love money only.

I will be calling upon all sponsors to see if they wish to have extra advertising on the DVD either full commercial or similar to cinema advertising

And here's one for your car sponsors - If you have a car sponsor who is prepared to pay $250 to have their logo appear next to the driver and co-driver name each time footage of that car is played (including in - cab) then please let us know so that artwork, etc can be prepared now and not hold up production after the event. (Car sponsors subject to approval of major event sponsors - not expecting trouble but due regard and consideration needed all the same)

All advertising monies will go to FUZZY for a longer lasting, more fulfilling and faster (just like nasal delivery technology) production.

Pls let Rudi or myself know.

Hey Hobzee
Just a thought, but if your asking for sponsors to help with production the ovrerall product will seriously have to lift, maybe if the DVD was better to watch you could sell more to the public and not just competitors you may turn a profit. the last 2 were seriously lacking in the production stakes. More cameras better commentry (sorry Hobzee)would help.

Agree there, watch Crusty Demons or similar and get some tips on how to make an exciting DVD that everyone will watch. Not just a documentary. I'm keen to do some big jumps if everyone else joins in. Put those donuts that we were doing in the clay pan last year on the DVD.

Muppet will join me for sure.

How about this for a New Idea!!!
A stage based on how creative we can do donuts, figure 8's, etc in the clay pans. Yee ha.
There is no substitute for cubic inches.

Your a little kid Hobzee lol. The last cliffhanger dvd was pretty lame but the 2007 ateco was only abit better so maybe it might be fuzzy lacking :?: . Ateco 06 / cliffhanger 06 dvd's were pretty good but compared to outback or 4wd tv productions aren't as exciting :?: . Maybe if you put small interviews with the teams about what mods their car has etc and stage highlights that would help make the dvd better my 2 bob's worth :D

Now we're talken.

Especially SS17.

This is going to be one wild Cliffhanger with all these 20 stages now set.

Muppet started a good one last year while we were waiting for the 2m deep MUD stage, Barrel racing like the horses do but in a slightly modified 4B. Could be SS21.

do nuts

Post by Hobzee »

Picture this - the TV screen is split into three sections (like XBox game) -

Pic 1 - You get an out side shot of Todd and Muppet both doing Donuts side by side.
Pic 2and Pic 3 are both in cab footage of the do nuts from inside...

The problem with dashing for Rudi's cash is that he always beats you to it regardless of what you drive. You watch at CH - 65 x comp trucks vs 1 x Doodle Boy Wreckage and he will still get it there faster.
