what size lift

Post by petespatrol »

hi guys just wondering what size lift for a 2003 gu patrol to run 35in tyres. I was thinking along the lines of 5in. we do alot of offroad work so i want a little extra clearance.

thanks

x2 I have 5" dobinsons coils, no body lift, no sway bars, matched shocks and run 35" on my gu. No probs at all. Biggest thing will be rim offset so rear on full compression doesn't rub on inner rear frame.

3 inch lift will fit. That's what J-top has and they don't scrub at all. You don't need up travel to flex either, look at the way buggies flex and they run almost on their bump-stops. Big lifts are so 2005. :finger: :D

5" is way to high for a gu i just removed mine and went back to a 3" lift drives way better and you dont feel like a cop magnet i still run 35"tyres and it looks way better just my 2 cents worth

mine drives tip top ... never had a prob with cops either ... hmm plus for my opinion 5" kinda suits 35"'s a bit better asthetically. Plus extra height under sill and back bumper don't go astray either ;)
