I believe they fit with a torsion bar crank and rear lift.

I will soon know as I'm about to put 32" MTR's on mine.
2000 SR-5 turbo diesel, dual airlockers, bit of a lift, some 15x8 sunnies, 32" bighorns, a few spotties, and a wireless, and a kiddie seat in the back.

Heres my old 03 V^ Hilux. Front was lifted bout 30-35mm, I didnt want to go more so I still had some suspension droop. removed the front mudflaps and trimmed alittle bit at the rear of the front guard to make the 265/75x16 MTR's clear at full flex without rubbing. Rear was 2 inch lifted.

Tough Dog sprongs and Ironman Foam cell shocks. Gee I miss her.

They will fit with no major changes to the suspension. You will have to trim the front flares and cut the plastic guard next to the flare to expose a seam that needs to be folded back. Dremel rotary tool and 5lb sledge are all that's needed for that.

I've got 1" balljoint spacers in the front of mine and a slight torsion bar crank and my 32s fit fine. My lux was higher in the back when I bought it so now it sits level with the 1.5" lift in the front. If yours sits level now you may have to get some longer shackles for the back. Don't fit balljoint spacers bigger than 1". You'll never get the alignment back to how it should be with 1.5" spacers.

Or you could just do a 2" body lift which then exposes more of the chassis rails and makes attaching rock sliders a lot easier. You wont have to cut the front flares or bend the seam if you go the bodylift route.

This is what needs to be cut and bent without the bodylift:

If you do end up cutting it I recommend filling in the opening exposed with somthing. I used thin Aluminium sheet cut to shape. If you dont, mud and crap gets forced back towards the door and gets stuck there and starts rust.

Clearance at the back is tight but ok without lift. I only get a bit of rubbing at full compression if there's a lot of mud caked on my wheels (we have very sticky clay mud over here).

Hey mmaaxx...

Nice rig.

The big dilemma I was having was whether to have powdercoat silver wheels, or black wheels.

You've just convinced me to go black. (I'll have MTR's also with the white writing outside)

Regarding your wheels, what brand, size, and offset are they (ie, are they 15x8 landcruiser offset?)

Cheers

They wre 16x7 sunraysias, I dont know what offset as I just told the dealer when I bought the truck to get em for me. MTR's were 265/75x16.

They fitted very nice and actually got better fuel economy on them than my worn BFG A/T's in the same size....go figure.

Here's some pix peeko22

Rims are 15x8 with 3.75" or so offset. That's about 1" more mounting offset towards the outer edge of the vehicle than the stock 15x7 steel rims. Not sure what size rims the SR5 in Australia came with. As you can see my 03 Lux is a bit different than the Australian spec one.

cheers spongerx

i am just ummin and areing really there are some 32 mtrs my mate can sell me and it looks like they fit on yours pretty easy.

i dont mind doin a a bit of "rubbin" to the flares and mud gaurds and that . my lux has the factory 15x8 but i dunno anythin about offsets and stuff so i might go the safe road and find some 31's i cant really afford new rims or a body lift...
thanks heaps

I have a 2004 SR5... 2" sus, 2"body. I have 33's with just a little scrubbing in the same areas as shown above. If the alloys are the same (which i would imagine they are) they're only 15x7's and +8 offset. I had to buy some 15x8's to put the 33's on as they are 12.5 wide and they ended up being landcruiser offset which is -24 or something. The only other offset as far as i know was navara offset which was -7 or something. According to the fitters guide 'legally' the shops shouldn't put 32x11.5s on a 15x7 rim, as the recommended min rim width is 7.5".
