the footage was pretty crappy, could hardly tell it was me, plus you could have left the noise of the engines instead of music.
Nothing sweeter than hearing my old turbo petrol and its blow off valve.
Ohh well lets see what we can do with the jeep this year.

Update -

No timed stages = less need for marshals and our own annual insurance for Navrun is then good enough. As such non sanctioned CCDA. Instead we will come up with other non timed challenges.

Compulsory items ...
- 4 point B Pillar roll bar protection as a minimum.
- Winch (not a hand winch)
- Seat belts or harnesses to be worn at all times.
- UHF Radio
- Vehicle reg'n and licensed drivers
- Nil alcohol until after event
- first aid kit, water and tools

Optional items ... preferred but not essential
- Helmets - 24 hours is a long time in a helmet.
- Window nets
- Harnesses

If large numbers we may have two starting points.

Rudes reports entries already coming in - great news.

Sounds like a great event and I'd love to do it, but...

How does this work on public tracks with the general public around and possibly driving these same tracks?

tracks

Post by Hobzee »

Johnno - have you never seen others on tracks before - It easy - you just pass them and occassionally they wave and sometimes even stop for a chat.

What made you think our guys were speeding or that we needed exclusivity? No different to Pajera Challenge except the selected tracks will be harder and the navigation is not the main objective.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it. I'm a big supporter of what you guys do.

Guess my comment is more to do with what I quoted about using Flats as a fast stage. I know that comment is not from an organiser, but worries me if people are using these tracks and speeding as there's that chance of something going wrong.

Johnno - I dont get where the speeding is coming from - there are no special stages. It is a non timed event.

Looks to me like you are stirring trouble - As you LIVE with Rudi - cant you discuss this at the dinner table instead of trying to make us look bad on a forum???

You'll need to read my comments to understand what I was talking about.

But anyway, a good time to clear up for all what the event is about as there seems to be some confusion amongst many who have posted on here.

So my question is;
If it's not a timed event, and the navigation isn't hard, what is the objective and how is it scored?

I'm keen to know this, as I'm sure are others, as a few of my friends and myself are keen to enter.

Cheers,
John.

objective

Post by Hobzee »

Johnno, all cool here.

The objective is simple
- Lot's of hard tracks in an endurance with all night driving.
- Some questions (not hard) to prove that yes you got the navigation right.
- Secret check points will have activities that will require skill and application. Some will be driven and scored on achievement - not on times so there will be no stop watch.

You have a valid question but rest assured there will be NO reckless speed stages on public tracks.
