How much does a dressed TD42 weigh?

Post by Mark2 »

I have to remove a TD42 soon. I have a Supercheap engine crane and I suspect that the only way to get enough height to clear the radiator crossmember will be to have the jib fully extended - where the load rating drops to 500kg (hopefully). Will this be enough capacity? enough height??

A TD motor weight is about 300kg, the crane at 500kg should be heaps, but the engine stands don't like it, I have mine braced with two bits of 4"x2" wood to support the front of the motor, or you could rest it on an old tyre.
good luck, Phill

G'day mate,

One way to get a bit of room to lift the engine out is to deflate your front tyres.Or take them off and use axle stands. It helped me any way good luck.

That would be well down the low end of what I'd guess.
