Vitara Towing Specifications

Post by Ole Grizzly »

Have a 97 SWB Vitara, 2 litre EFI 4 cyl. and want to tow a light camper.

What are the regulation capacities for the Vitara ?

Did a brief search and got lost amongst all the info....

Only problem, is the Vitara was purchased without a manual.

As a guide for some approximate figures:

http://www.haymanreese.com.au/index.htm

My searching on their site indicates you could tow 1 tonne, with 80kg ball weight, so long as the trailer has brakes.

Different states may have regulations which undercut the towbar rating of both vehicle and towbar manufacturers. So if your dead keen, get in contact with your local authority.
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
