gq td42 starter motor

Post by shw337 »

hey guys woke up thismorning n me starter motor didnt engage... gave it a few hits wit an extention bar on the backend and as it turned it made a few sickly noises after hittin it a few times it started and as worked fine ever since..

my question is about prices n better reliablity,
should i pull it out n get it rebuilt?
pull it out n get a new one or trade for reco?
or not worry bout it till it plays up again?

cheers guys

its gona die , pull it out and reco it, new bearings alround , clean and unseize the seized brushes(dont sand blast) put in new (reco drive) and stay out of the mud and it wont happen again. done it 5 times in 4 years and still havent learned to stay out of the mud. Ya might as well pull it out in the driveway instead of in the bush.

Do the tb42e and td42 share the same starter.

Mine has started cranking slower lately and i swapped batteries and its still doing it so i think i'm going to be needing a new one soon!

i9 have a feeling that the dt42 would required more torque so i dont think they are interchangeable but if sum1 can prove me wrong... great coz o hav on in the shed that will make it quick in painfull....

if not dose anyone know the cost of getting it reco'd? if i pull it out n hand it to sum1 to do it
