i got a 92 SWB XLT mav, got 45 litre petrol and 120 gas

out of the gas i get about 400, but the most i have ever put in it is 109 litres, i might get a bit more out of it, but i tend to have a heavy foot sometimes and like the AC in the summer, but roughly 400km

also mine has got an exhaust on it, and extractors, with a performace air intake system, sounds like a pod filter and sound sweet.

TB42, 93 model Maverick. I got 14.5L/100km on the all-highway trip from Sydney to Brisbane; would probably be somewhat worse in town but I haven't measured it. I never turn the air con off, it's a habit of mine.

All in all a bit better than I was led to expect and within the realms of what I don't mind paying for.

I am wondering whether this economy will improve slightly with bigger tyres or worsen. At present the car feels slightly too geary to me on the road.

88 swb tb42, extractors, electronic ignition, 120 litre gas tank, although my AFL valve doesn't work properly, so i can get about 105 litres in, and off that i get about 325 - 400km, but like hottiemonster, i have quite a heavy foot, although i dont use aircon that much.

Also my car is running like crap, missing a little, just had the tappets done by a mate yesterday, aparently they were all over the place, so i might be getting a bit better ecconomy now, just need to work out the slight miss and she'll be sweet, have done plugs and leads, but still there, coil is next, then i'm outa ideas and will send it in to someone who knows what they are doing.

Where can I get this bloody electronic ignition from??????????

Need it desperately, mine skips and does all sorts of shyt on idling.

Please dont say that Jaycar put it together yourself kit.

I have a 120 LPG tank and the most I can ever fill it up to is 80, and I get roughly 250ks. out of that.

Cheers,

Rod

Mine had the pirahna electronic ignition when i got it, so i don't know much about it.

In regards to the tank, maybe your AFL valve is adjusted on the safe side, i think it is meant to fill to 80%, which i work out as 96 litres, but then maybe you don't run it right down. If you have petrol, run it till it won't idle, then fill it and see what you can get in.

Also electronic ignition might not be the ultimate solution to your idle problem, as mine has developed a miss that can be felt at idle (it is always there, just you don't feel it at higher revs) just recently, done the plugs and leads, didn't help, need to get a coil now to try that.

What kind of economy does everyone get from TD42's. I've been lookin at patrols recently and they seem like the best value in my price range.

What would be fair k's for a 88-90 diesel lwb :?:

Ryan sorry to kind of highjack :? My mate has a swb petrol GQ and he gets 20l / 100k (450 from 90l tank) ;)

if i were to just put up with it 4 a bit, then put in a TD42 (you got my brain ticking now  ) what do i have to change? cause like you said, even tho its $6500 it would be money well spent, but do i have to change gearboxes etc?? and is that price engine included??

Cheers

OK maybe I should look into a Jaycar electronic ignition kit.

Im just a little doubtful of those self assemble kits especially after I heard about a dual battery kit that caught on fire!

Thanks anyway :D
