now i was wondering how much lift would i need to do to fit 35s under my vitara.
its 91 swb and currently has 2inch suspension lift.
i have 31s on there atm which i had to slightly bash and cut some parts so they dont rub..
a place near by has offerd to do a 3 inch body lift for close to 2geez. drive in drive out .is that too much..
i want to build my lil beast on a budget
.. can anyone help me. has anyone done what i want to do to mine, if so how much all up..
or if any shops on here read this. please pm me with some prices to complete my beast.

how much lift and cutting to fit 35s on my 91 swb vit
Iremember quiet a few beers ago there was a white vit running 33s or 35s with bugger all lift. Possibly gwagon had somthing to do with the build.
Other than that I havnt owned a vit but you dont see many on 35s surley there is a reason for this one of them being I dont think you canget lower diff gears for highway use yes t/c gears will help offroad.

Ljxtreem (Mock) on this board ran a vit with 33's on it and effectively no lift.
Here's the picture.
It was very, very cut and had very little compression travel - It had (from memory) 120mm bumpstop spacers, stock gearing, welded diffs (sierra rear in the front) , and an angry clutch.
It also broke a rear axle on road. It was cool offroad - very stable and capable, but I think Mock would agree it was a quick build and wasn't ever really sorted properly.
I am sure that with a 2" BL and bumpstop spacing, and maybe something like a calmini kit, (along with LOTS of cutting) it might be possible.
However, strength and gearing will become major issues.
As a minimum, you'll need crawler transfer gears, and the "made of thin air" 5.89 calmini R&P's to make it functional, or a sierra transfer case swap creating a bunch of clearance and fabrication issues.
Add in HD front CV's, a steel front diff, Sierra rear 3rd member in the front.... It won't be cheap, but it would be very cool if it stayed nice and low.
Please don't take offence, but if you need to pay someone to install a 3" BL, I don't think you can handle a build this big. Just my opinion though.- it will get quite complex to build a usable, functional car on 35's.
As an aside, $2K to install a 3" BL seems a bit high, but a 3" BL is a bit high too. 2" is much better, and will make no real difference to the tyre size you can run - PM Just Cruzin' for one of his kits I think they come with install instructions. They can be done in the driveway with a couple of jacks and a solid day's work.

you'd be wanting to, at the very least, swap in the toyota ifs cv setup, or you will be changing halfshafts every time out.
