GQ TB42 EFI conversion questions

Post by Shark »

OKay i have been having a read over the last couple of days regarding doing this conversion on a carby model..

Has anyone actually done the conversion utilising the components needed off a tb42e and had it working for a while... Is it realiable...

Would i be better off trying to get a complete engine with the efi already and transferring the whole lot...

Unfortunately a efi gq is pretty much out of my price range, i have no idea what the parts would cost... does anyone have any idea???

I dont really wanna do the ford injection, it needs to be completely reliable..

Any thoughts or should i give this idea the arse.... I could do most the work myself with out a wiring diagram though i think i would have to take it to a sparky...

Cheers fella's

what about putting a decent computer on as well ? surly this would improve power output
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

I was only curious as to wether it would be worth the
- Power gains if any

-Fuel economy if any

If the difference is hardly noticable then its not worth the stuffing around
I have no idea what it would be worth but couldnt be that much

FWIW, you'd be better off putting the later model overhead cam motor in, but i would hate to think how much they would be, ford efi motors are plentiful, and reasonably cheap. My economy is roughly 1.5 times better. I have got over 580 kms from my 120 litre tank. I cant complain about the power either, and go the extra 1000 revs before redline.
