hey guys i havent been able to find out any info on this being done on the forum, ive seen some of the stuff about it in the us websites etc. anybody dont it here in Oz ? ive got some really good contacts since i work with vws ;)

I believe there are two main reasons why this is popular (and works) in the US and not here.
1. VW diesels are quite rare here... hence expensive.
2. The VW diesel suits LHD better than our RHD. (Manifold fouls on steering and brake master/booster).
There are kits available in the US to bolt one into a Sierra/Samurai.

this is the path I plan to go down when my 1.3 dies :D

if it fowls on the side could you do what they did on the jeep tj ... make a manafold that goes down an to the other side ... goes underneath the sump
