Gu injector onto gq turbo question

Post by AC »

Hi
just in the middle of putting a gu injector pump onto my gq turbo diesel. I have mounted the pumpe in and and just bled it from the 17mm srew near the front of the engine by pumping the hand pump till fuel comes through. I still have had the injector nuts loose to beeld any any air to that point however I am not getting any fuel whatsoever through.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

thanks Alan

what pump have you fitted as there is a couple of different GU injector pumps.

most likely the fuel cutoff solenoid isn't working. check your wiring.

not 100% on bleeding injectors on a TD42 but on the boats and machinery on the station i just pull the glow plugs, crack the union nuts and wind her over, just make sure ya got ya sunnies on. but that was just for running outta fuel and things not after pulling the pump. So the cut off could be your problem.

Cheers

If you were to put a wire from the + battery terminal to the stop solenoid can you hear a faint click or small spark? The engine needs to be cranked over to bleed injector lines. has the pump been sitting or is it new?
