Hydro Bump Stop and dual front shocks in 80 Series

Post by davo250 »

G'day all
i went out of weekend and was testing for winch challenges. My front end took a big hit and put my diff centre into my motor sump. Not sure even how i could of completely compress the std rubber one but i did. now i need to look into fitting hydro bump stops to stop this mid comp and i think i need to go the whole hog and do dual shocks too. has anyone fitted them? what brand bump stops? how much did they cost? did you go the longer 4" ones? i would love to see a pic if anybody has fitted dual shocks or hydro bump stops.

twin shocks will help, poor mans option, of fit bypasses for adjustability.

hydo bumps work great, but not for the full 4" travel, have them spaced 2" to work better with the 80's up travel, so they dont become part of the suspension stroke.

You only need 2" of hydro bump on the front, so if you have spacers made for inside the unit you use then you wont boil the oil in them, by using to much stroke as part of the suspension travel,a nd they wont be over rebounding your shocks on kick off either.

We use [and sell] Fox, and we space a 4" one, but if you can buy a 2" one, may be easier for you.
