Tyres

what tyre would be the best for touring, probably about 80/20. coopers, mickey thompsons or bridgestone. bfgs are out of the question. Anyone had any experience with the bridgestone d694

My mate has the Mickey Thompson ATZ's and is really happy with them - go really well on sand too apparently. ;)

I've run the Toyo opats as a road tyre in a 31/10.5/15 and they were excellent on road and good on sand and dirt road. They have a rounded shoulder so they dont dig in the sand as badly as other more agressive AT's. I swaped these for some 33 Mtr's as i wanted 8" rims they sucked on road and were noisy also. I now run Maxxis Bravo 751 series in a 33/12.5/15 they are smooth ride, quiet and so far been good on sand and forestry tracks up around gympie etc. Another good tyre that a mate runs for mainly road use is Yokohama Geolanders Ats's.
These may be some other options for you!!.
Enjoy your hunt!
