Diff swap in to scat?

Diff swap in to scat?
hi I am planing on swaping the diffs out of my play scat to get some extera width to stop it from laying down on me and I am just wondering what diffs will fit under whithout too mutsh trouble, I still want to keep the leaf springs so I am looking for some that will bolt up to the original leaf center spacing. anny help would be grate

Same line of thinking for my rig.....eventually. I was thinking Hilux, only because they already have a springover, and partially because they have reversed shackles on the front. So if you could get them with the leaves you could theoritically just change the centre spacing for springs, change pinions, etc. Then just bolt up the hilux leaves to the chassis, complete with diffs......
The bonus of this setup is that you now have longer leaves
That means m ore flex
Well that was what may happen to mine, just a thought.
Disclaimer:- I know its probably more involved than that, but you cross those bridges when you get there!!!
Dano.

How do you thinck I would go whith registration? would I need an engineers certificat? sorry about the extra questions but it my first real modification and i want it to go perfect

Without being a wet blanket - get on to an engineer BEFORE you start cutting and welding IF your concerned about keeping it legal.
Some states modification rules pretty much limit you to changing the radio and even then you need an engineers report and they aren't cheap.

( usual disclaimers )
It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Best advice so far. Consult an engineer and the RTA first if you want it road legal. Then go from there. Hilux or 60's would be my choice. But your decision may rest on what the engineer is happy with.

Dat Man,
The orange scat you have shown a picture of is I believe on standard axles and is still spring under but with 4" lift springs on it. This picture shows it from the back, most of the width is in the wheels and tyres.

It was up for sale here last year on ebay.
A couple with spoa but on standard axles both from Belguim or Holland I think,

A few more from Europe several of which are/where owned by Gonzo4x4 who posts here sometimes,

most of the photos above have come from www.daihatsu4x4.eu
and one from the Rainforest challenge

Hopefully some more inspiration for you.

My guess is the flares are either Bushwacker or Flexi Wheel Arches,

I would guess that there aren't any sold specifically for the Scat though.
