WHATS GRINDING

Post by poppeye »

have patrol swb with 5 inch lift and when at speeds over 70 and only when i free wheel (put clutch in) it makes a shocking grinding noise still changes gear up and down perfect. have put new diff in rear where i cut and moved spring perches etc to roll diff back so tail shaft angle is fine at diff end. has new thrust bearing new clutch new t case bearings new tailshaft so its not them only thing i can think of is it might be uni angle at gearbox so have 4inch springs coming any other ideas. its doing my head in

cheers

bad uni angles would create vibrations - a grinding noise would be something different i would think....correct me if I'm wrong??

Is the noise caused by putting in the clutch, or is it that you only hear it because with the clutch in, it is a lot quieter, and therefore easier to hear?
