Doing A Body Lift On My NF

Doing A Body Lift On My NF
hey all,
Iv decided i want to fit a body lift on my 4wd, its a nf pajero already with 2" lift kit and also 33" tires.
I'm not sure weather i should go a 3" body lift or a 2" body lift. which will be better for me and still keep the 4wd stable.
Also how many block am i going to need to make up, and can i make the 2" lifting blocks my self if i just buy the aluminum, cut them at 2" each then drill the holes in the and use high tensile bolts for them. and is that all i need to do for a body lift on a nf.
also what other mods will i have to make, eg. fuel lines, lifting up the bull bar and any others please tell me everything needed to be done.
Thx Wade

Assuming the 2 inch lift you already have excludes the body lift (doesnt look like the body has been lifted) it would balance out the 33s you have. I reckon 33s on paj without a body lift looks a bit squat.
Personally, with $6k I would put in a set of lockers, buy a decent bullbar with winch, lightforce lights, install a proper storage system with fridge slide etc, long range fuel tank, air compressor etc etc. recondition the heads in your case would have to be high on the priorities list. what about a new exhaust system to give it that truck like rumble.
Everyone has their own priorities and it depends on what you use your fourby for.
my 2c anyway.

Hmmmm, fourbys arent about looks, to tell the truth I put a body lift in mine for about a month, but the extra hight was a pain, made it even harder to find car parks and was another two inches off the ground which didnt give me any extra abilty offroad. So I took it out and did a little guard trimming and now I am running the same tyres without the body lift and going swimmingly.awbeattie381 wrote:Assuming the 2 inch lift you already have excludes the body lift (doesnt look like the body has been lifted) it would balance out the 33s you have. The list you have there is excellent, I dont know what other equipment you have, but I would look at spending some of that cash on recovery gear. You can pick up a hand whinch for about $300 second hand, it took me ages to get one at that price but they do exist.
hey mate,
i have a 3 inch bodylift on my car... no hassles at all with it... but what are your plans for the car??? if you want something that will go anywhere i suggest front and rear diff locks, change the diff ratios, put some crawler gears in, arb winch bullbar with a 5 tonne warn winch.... if you were going to put a bodylift in i suggest you go with a 2 inch bodylift.... with your 2 inch suspension lift thats a 4 inch lift all up... also if you did do a bodylift you have to extend gear sticks, fuel lines, extend radiator lines, replace the clutch fan with a thermo, lift the bull bar, lift the rear bar, lift tour side steps, extend your steering shaft... and you will need 10 i think it is in a long wheel base pajero... not sure mine being SWB....

hey dan,
Yeh i want my 4wd to go anywhere pritty much but i dont wanna change the diffs to a 5:25 ratio or what ever it is because it will be a little slugish on the road. I heard i can do a 2" body lift without extanding anything, altho im not sure how that works out considering you will still have to extend the streeing rod and also the gear stick plus the bull bar and back bumper. but even at that there will still be more to extend wont there?
Thx M8
