does anyone know if the 97 terrano2 2.7 diesel turbo has a timing belt or chain or gears? Thanks,

if it is the TD27T motor like the earlier D21 model had, then it is a gear driven pushrod setup ...
Its NOT A FORD Its a NISSAN ....

It's the TD27 with gears.
