There's a place near Wanaka called Monster Mountain where you can drive this Monster Truck (and lift the front wheels off the ground at the end) It is a 454 Chev and runs AV-Gas with straight Pipes. It is apparently the only place in the world that you can do this- they take you round a track which includes driving over the odd car and other obstacles...

There is also a Monster Bus which is great fun and can take a whole family if you like...

Anyway it is great fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who ever wanted to drive something with big wheels and my GF even had a go!

I was driving past that area in january and got a huge shock to see a few monster trucks sitting in a paddock around wanaka...couldn't stop unfortunately...but if in the area be good to have a go...might be a good offside day trip to mix in with the ski season :armsup:
