Importing winches

Has anybody tried importing a winch from overseas? Seems it may be a cheaper way to go.

I got a 16, 500lb superwinch from the states for a thousand bucks. so yes it is cheaper

Not enough difference from what you can get one for locally.
Especially when you take into account waiting for shipping, warranty cover, etc etc.
The hardest thing about owning a jeep is telling your parents you're g a y!!
