townsville drive 13/14 dec DATE NOW CHANGED TO THE 20/21

Post by camo »

i am keen for a drive on this weekend and maybe even a camp some where over night.

can head out for a hardcore weekend of fun, or just day drive.

Will be about the last weekend before christmas rush takes over!!!

i am sure me and jake could throw something together if people want an overnighter.

if it is overnight would people from north and south come for the weekend?

WHO"S INTERESTED?

HAHAHA :finger: DAMO i recon you picked the worse time to leave townsville mate.... just think your car wood still be on the road and you wood still be able to go wheelin lmao    :finger:

UDATE ON NEXT WEEK ENDS WHEELIN TRIP.....
ok headed down to DELBEG GORGE nice drive took us about 2 1/2 hours easy driven but cos we piss farted about we didnt get back till 10pm last night  ..... went in to meet the land owner but wasnt there so i will be ringing him monday to let him know what is happen... i still need to find out on how many rigs are turning up so far there is me... terrafirma and chris...camo and chris...fieldsy... terrafirmas mates x 2....
matt and glen are you guys still comin?there plenty of tracks round the property specially thru the couple of creeks we have to head thru (no water flowin thru them as yet but this cood change) noticed it had rained recently as there had been alot of the old tracks that were a walk in the park are now kinda hard and alot more fun   awesome senery too and a shit load a massive gibbas (rocks)about too just gettin to the actual camp site was was in ist self but i did take the harder tracks :finger: theres something for every one here and will make for a great week end trip... there has been a bit of rain about and there is a good chance thats the track conditions cood change abit between now and next week end and it can only make for a better more challenging week end

somethings to note is that there are no communications apart from our uhfs, on the property not even with the land owner so when we are out there we will be alone.... im thinkin of borrowing my old mans EPIRB just as a safety measure...

 you will need to bring you own drinkin water as the BURDIKEN RIVER is pretty low and very muddy

 please make sure to bring some kinda foot wear as the is a heep of broken bottles and shit all along the tracks and camp area as some low-lifes have been leavin there rubbish...im gonna bring some garbage bags so we can clean up the camp site and area for the next time we come and it will help the land owner out abit too

as for bring ya dogs unless they are fully secured to you rig eg: cable tied each leg to something firm (which i dont condone :D ) the dogs will get thrown from your vehicle on some of these tracks but its up to you..

like i said before THERE ARE SALTWATER CROCS THAT IN HABIT THIS PART OF THE RIVER... and caution must be used when aproachin the river AT ALL TIMES like i said i aint no STEVE IRWIN ;)

every thing you take in you must take out or we will be told we not to come back and i recon after this week end you WILL wanna come back

 if you are a keen fisherman there is a weir just up from the campsite and i think it will be worth given it a go as there will be barra biting ( matt ;) ) as it is outta season for the mighty barra it will be catch and release only....

now from what ive been the land owner will not allow any shootin on the property AT ALL as it is a pubic track runnin thru private property he has had problems before with his cattle and live dtock being shot and sh1t and he will not tolerate it.

WE WILL MEET AT THE BP WULGURU @ 7am on saturday morning...
so if ya have any problems or questions please contact me on 0414 611 182 or on (07) 4722 4963
