Post by shorty92 »

Hey guys looking for some new suspension for my GU just got a quote for a 2'' kit (wanna be able to fit some 33 muds)
4x 45mm adjustable shocks
and 4x coils for $1580 dose this sound reasonable?

also what price am i looking at for some 33'' muds not sure what itwill be i think around the 285/75 for the 17'' standard mags if its too much might get some steel rims what do you guys reckon?

If you mean the standard 17" rims that came on the GU4's You would be looking around :

33/12.5/17 Baja MTZ's $370 each
285/70/17 Pro Comp M/T xtreme $420 each

I have the MTZ's and reckon they are the ducks guts, although they wear quickly if you put big loads on them.

same answer on patrol forum

you can do a suspensin lift for much better than $1500 for a 2inch lift!!

Theres a couple of suspension people on the board, but have seen setups for round $800-1000 a few times for 2-3inch ift.

You get what you pay for with suspension.

Cheaper isn't always better.

Work out for what purpose you want it for and talk to the experts.

To be honest I once had Adjustable Shocks in my SWB Mav and I adjusted them to start with because it was a novalty and then I left the at the same setting for the next 2 years!!

Depending on how fussytight you are, dont forget you've got the classified section on here, and a truck load of stuff on eBay...

You can, but you have to take extra steps to make sure the coils stay captive at full travel. Try talking to Shayne from SuspensionStuff on here i'm sure he can help you out with advice and products.
