Wouldn't know, mate. Closest I've ever got would be my mother's vitara. 
My suggestion would be to read the sierra bible, read the zook section frack-to-bunt, and then go drive a few.

I like the hard tops, because your camping gear always stays dry, and your warm. The windows push open in the back, so heat isnt a problem in summer.
Also i have found hard tops also to be a bit quieter.
Its more of a personal opinion, i have a soft top on the farm, which has no roof, no roll bar, and the wind screen folded down and it is door less, this is the most fun! But my daily is an 88 Hardtop.

The last digit of the vin references the day of the week it was built. If it's a 3, don't buy it as it will have been built on tuesday.

Actually I believe that the Japanese start their week on a Monday so you actually dont want a 2 as the last digit. On second thought, Im not sure about that.
