83 lux transfer case

hi all.

i have tried searching but couldnt find anything, sorry

can someone please tell me if my 83 hilux transfer case will fit a 90 model gearbox?

im not sure what different models there are. if more info is needed to answer my question i can get it.

83 model case would be a top shifting case where as a 90 model is foward shift case to i'd say the shifter won't line up, there the same case just different shifter set up

actually im pretty sure the case i have at home is a forward shift case.

maybe its not an 83 model i have at home?

i'll have to have a check of the serial number on it.

by the look of the 2 pics the forward shift can be adapted into a top shift pretty easily??

The shifting linkages are different. Some later models had chain driven transfers as well.
83' was a change over year for top shifters.

Yer the chaindrives wer introduced with the IFS correct? So a forward shift geardrive is wat say a 1990 solid axle hilux wud hav? And anything pre 83 is topshift geardrive?? Cheers

Yeah shift rods, selector forks and shifter.
