ive done this up on ms paint and wondering what would be involved would it need mod plates what sort of roll cage
When I converted my landie ffrom a hardtop to a ute, I went to get it mod plated, only to be told it wasn't possible, as there was no mod code for a factory option bolt on-off conversion like that (took QLD transport 1hr of phoning my mod plater and head office engineers to confirm that was true). So it was just a matter of doing the mod then getting the body style changed by transport.
I suspect the same would hold for a soft top conversion IF you used factory parts (I think there were some NAS-spec 4-door soft top 110's - but they had a full safety devices external roll cage) - almost all soft-top 110s were 2-door though.
Bobtail job will definitely need a mod plate though.
