12v alternator on 24v mq patrol.. need help
hi all. i have a 24v diesel ute and i want to put a 12v alternator on it to run lights fridge and uhf and stuff like this.. just wanting to know if anyone else has done it.. just after some ideas and maybe some photos of how they hae done it.. cheers
yer mate there is a fair few tht have done this i am one of them was not hard mine is above water pump and uses ac belt (may need one tht is a bit longer) if u dont have ac put it there and as far as wiring if you havnt done much electrcal work get some quotes from some auto electicians

Grab a falcon or commodore 85A bosch alternator, $40 or so at pick-a-part. If you can fab up a bracket and mount it on the engine somewhere and get a belt on it so it turns, I would say we can talk you through the wiring side of it pretty easily.
