TSL brand tyres and who sells em here (melbourne)

Guys,

Just wondering before I start ringine around about who sells TSL brand tyres in Melbourne if anybody knows, if not than other states?

Im interested in the Swamper LTB's in 34/10,5x16 as a second set of tyres for offroading.

Or the SSR series in a 285/75x16 (which is a 34 inch x 11.5 inch tyre)

Ive heard from the Yank forum they say they are cheap but awesome in mud, can anybody verify this from exprience???

The brand is Interco. TSL refers to the outer lug design - "Three stage lug" Mostly they are known as swampers. (as in TSL super swamper)

There are a number of sources for swampers, be aware though they they are not cheap in Australia.

Also, NO super swamper is legal on a car manufactured after 1973. They do ot have an ADR compliant speed rating.

That said, they are the best offroad tyres I have ever seen/used and the only tyres I'd drive off road on. I've been driving on them for over 15 years.

The LTB's are quite good, but might be a bit soft for a heavy car. I'd steer clear of the SSR's, they have a weak sidewall.

What has made you say this, have you got test info on these tyres, cause there one of the only few radial 37/12.5/16 tyres about within the X price range

The radials only have a 2-ply sidewall. Compared to that of the bias TSLs & LTB's which have a 4 (and in some weird sizes up to a 6 ply) sidewall.

Yer cheers, seems all there radials have 2 ply sides apart from the iroks(3 ply), and all there bais have 4 ply

But the radials have 10 ply tread where the rags have only 6

I bought some TSL's and got prices for the LTB's also i got my 33x12.5x15 swampers for $330e the 34x10.5x15 were quoted at $320. This was last year through Tyreworks which owns Fourbys in Brisbane the LTB's are made in China as apposed to the TSL's in America. The 33 TSL is taller at OD of 33.7 compared to the 34x10.5x15 LTb's are 33.6. Check interco tires for size etc The LTB is 6 ply rated with 4 side wall where as the TSL is 8 ply 4 ply side. Hope this helps a bit ohh the radials do only come with 2 ply sidewalls!

thats alot of tyre for your money

LTB's have a softer compound and a better tread design too.

I know of some SSR's letting go in the sidewall in the US. I'm not one to talk.. I've taken out the sidewall in a 10 ply TSL-SX.

I prefer bias ply tyres offroad to radials. Stronger sidewall and more flexible tread.
