Finished mods to my Highmount

Post by ToNkA »

Finally got all the little things done to my Warn 8274.

Thanks to awill4x4 off this forum for fabbing up and welding the bracing tabs on the winch, he did a top job for me.

So it now has new seals, breather, oil fill hole, oil drain hole, and bracing on drum housing.

A couple of pics...

The winch on our truck and most of the comp vehicles we compete with have a breather on them, not sure why but l noticed yours doesnt. You may want to look into this and see if its worth puting one on before it is fitted to your truck.

I fitted a 4.6hp motor as a replacement
Well worth it the winch is even quicker loading cable/powering out
and the motor runs far cooler(more winching time)
Cost me £185GBP
Defender 90 Modified
Defender 110XS Standard
