you had a crappy installation.Doza wrote:Hey Guys I've got a 98 3.2 v6 man Rodeo and was just wondering if anyone out the has had problems with thier engine light coming when running their rodeos/jackaroos on lpg. yes, this is a common problem.... but only amongst the dodgy installers
with these babies, there are 2 possible installations
1. cheap $2000ish
2. good $5000ish
what many of the cheap guys do is cut the check engine light.... too bad it actually IS damaging the engine still.... the fact that you can't see the warning, doesn't mean it isn't happening
the good installation is quite time consuming and needs a few extra parts- very few people do them because of this issue, and the high demand for LPG installations

Cheers for that The guy that did the install is highly recommended ,who ever you talk to in the motor industry says take it to him he's been in this industry for ever. he didn't just pup up over night to make a quick buck it took two days for the coversion. and cost $3000 but as you say $3000 may not cover those extra bits needed Do you know what the extras are needed to help the problem. Cheers Andy
If you are that worried about it, take to Holdens and get the tech2 on it. I bet it says its an O2 sensor problem or running lean problem.
It is common and normal, the 02 sensor picks up different oxygen readings when running on gas.
My 3.2 Rodeo is dual fuel as well and the check engine light comes on occasionally when on gas. It goes off again after a little running on petrol.
The Gastech manual even says that many ECU controlled vehicles will experience this "problem".

fair enough, he might be the top dog for other vehicles, there are very few who can successfully convert a JackarooDoza wrote:Cheers for that The guy that did the install is highly recommended ,who ever you talk to in the motor industry says take it to him he's been in this industry for ever. he didn't just pup up over night to make a quick buck it took two days for the coversion. and cost $3000 but as you say $3000 may not cover those extra bits needed Do you know what the extras are needed to help the problem.
