Clear Coat

Post by BJMASE »

Hi Guys,

Just took my new H3 hummer (black adventurer) offroad on the weekend as was extremely impressed with the crawl ratios and the locker. The paint on the other hand doesn't stand to well against rocks flicking up from my MTZ's. Is anyone aware of that clear coating product that you can paint on and peal off at the end of your trip? I heard of it before but not sure where to course it from.

Regards,

Brett

Not so much paint on and peel off, but there are sheets of clear plastic with adhesive on the back, you cut to shape...

I would say leave it on permanently tho.

Yeah not a bad idea. Just peel off every 6 months and apply a fresh one atleast to the flares. Im sure I met a bloke with the plates "mudboss" who had the peel off paint as I'd like to do the sides of the truck before long trips. Is this an autobarn job or something more specialised?

I think you missed the word "new" in there........ I think I would give a $hit for at least the first 12 months if I had a brand new hummer.

More importantly its good to see someone with a hummer actually using it for what they were designed for and not putting a set of 24" rims and low profiles on it.
