TROOPY CONVERSION - need some ideas for design...

Post by igetzby »

i have this thing that i HATE RUST!!! or just the rust repairing...

And unfortunately the ol' reliable Troopy (well known for the gutters going) has had a few bits and pieces repaired on the roof but still it comes back. Everything else (most of it) is fine and not bad enough to justify getting rid of it.

Sooooo... got this crazy idea for cuttin the roof off and making it into a soft top or removable hard top.

Why? you might ask... well i really need a ute but i dont want to get rid of my beastie... so why not have the best have the best of both worlds.... Sorta like the way thay the 4Runner did it - only its a TROOPY!

Keep the hard top over the cab area... cutting where the first back window starts and run along the back window line, change barn doors for drop door tail gate style.

Anyone done this before or seen one??? any pics would be great.....
