GUIV genuine Flares

Post by Navara82 »

Im hoping to fit some genuine GUIV flares to my 06 DX Nissan Patrol

I can get some through a wrecker for a realistic price but I have a few dilemas.

1. ST panels are pre drilled for the mounting holes / plugs where as the DX is a plain panel, no markings or holes.
2. I cannot seem to get a template to fit these flares for correct hole / drilling position

Has anyone attempted this with sucess before? Are there templates available?

If anyone has any ideas / suggestions It would be greatly appreciated.

as far as hole positioning, get one flare and one permanent texta. hold in place then mark the spots where the clips touch.
Or if you're really picky, ask the wrecker to let you trace off the car it comes off.

nissan should be able to supply you with stencils as the flares are an optional feature?

Flares

Hi Mate, I thought that may be the case also however,
I emailed Nissan Motor Company and this is the response I recieved:

"We do advise that enquiries have been made through to our National Service & Engineering Departments, who have advised that the holes to which you refer to are pre stamped as part of the panel manufacturing.
This being the case unfortunately we don’t have a template for the mounting of the flares in question.
May we respectfully suggest, that contact be made with a panel shop, who may be in a better position to offer further advise regarding fitting".

So I may need to trace it from a wrecked vehicle or something I guess???
