Rockhampton Speedometer Check

Post by Mr Sausage »

Anyone around the Rockhampton area in need of a speedo check?
If so, I am a member of the classic motor car club CQ, and Sunday 20th April, on the Woolwash road (past Hastings Deering, near the Old Spire-Tropic of Capricorn) We have borrowed a radar and mobile sign, as well as the correct calibration gear from MainRoads and will have it set up for any passers by for about 2 hours from 9:00am.
The road will be open to all public traffic, so all road laws will be applicable, also, don't be surprised if you see Mr Plod. They often come along to our meetings, pretty much for a yarn and just to check out the cars on a nice warm Sunday!
So no hooning! but if anyone with doubts about their speedo's in the area, might be worth the drive past to check it out.

Have a nice weekend!

Shame its the same day as the 5 rocks protest. I would run my Nomad past it. A gps check shows my speedo indicates 10kph faster than GPS speed.

I know! I'm having to go out at 8am to help set up and do a few runs myself in the vette (I need to do this as the speedo is in MPH, but seems out to me) Then there's a sausage sizzle at the gardens with the CQMCC, but I'm going to pass that up, come home, get the Paj and head to 5 rocks with my mates.

Keep an eye open for a red J-top, and a fat fella with a smoke in his mouth! Come and say g'day! Lets keep this beach open!
