free scat... but is it worth it

Post by RockyF75 »

Been offered a scat, for free :D Now after I stopped jumping up and down and screaming yipeeee, I went and had a look at it....... .

Running gears is all there and apparently working, except for the engine, no idea on condition of it at this stage but I know it wont be good, and the water pumps missing. It has no interior to speak of, no glass, and no roof - at all. I should have had a better look, but did F50's come out with removable A pillars? :? Cause they weren't there  . Had a bit of a roll cage at the back and thats it. Surface rust everywhere, nothing that looked too deep tho.

So now I don't know whether its worth the bother or the work.

Anyone know if an F50 gearbox is the same as the one in an 1984 F75 Rocky? Cause the owner says they are the same. Thats all I originally wanted, a gearbox/tcase to replace my noisy one while I rebuild it. But he said take the gearbox and the car comes with it

I think the f50 only a 4 speed, transfer may be the same.
I'd get it, you'll get $130 per 1000kg at the scrap yard :D

Yeah.

Going to give it a miss. Its just too much of a nightmare atm and it needs to be moved ASAP cause the fellers' moving house. So if anyone off here wants it, PM me, its in Griffith.

I think I will get one as a toy one day, either a scat or a zuke
