Post by 308LUX »

im after some info on a 'Diahatsu Delta' gear box, thought id come to the source and ask the experts :D

what are they out of? are they a good strong box? would it handle a 308? & what would one expect too pay (round about sort of price for a second hand one?)

thanks Luke.

This may be of some use :

http://www.dmms.com.my/daihatsu/commerc ... Code=delta

Going by that putting it behind a 308 may not be a good idea!

Well it may be strong enough- I mean old Celica 5 speeds are regularly used behind V8's with no problems.....

If Mark's Adapters used them in a kit you'd think they'd be OK. Besides the Delta is a light truck so they'd have to be strong I guess. :?

Dellows also had a Supra box conversion available for use with their kits, recommended for use behind the '8s. I've got a catalogue around here somewhere...

I could be wrong about this but isn't the Daihatsu Delta just a rebadged Toyota Dyna and if so wouldn't the delta have a dyna gearbox= very strong :?:
