hi all
i want to do alot of mods - front bar but the airbags hold me back and at every show are some great rides with good bars but when you ask about legality they say the airbags have been turned off, is that legal or are the stores just sticking it to us!!!

You may be walking into a legal and engineering mine field. To disconect airbags is easy, just pull the SRS fuse and the system is diabled. BUT - from memory it is illegal to disable a SRS system in a car, though it may be possible if it is engineer approved, most likley depending on state laws etc etc.
What car etc are you refering to?
Layto....

A bit OT, but Liam from BBM has a body lifted GV shorty. He said the engineer had no problems with the body lift and air bags because the sensors are mounted onto the firewall. I think GV uses G-force sensors not crush cans which is why it was able to be engineered.
That may help or maybe not?
Suziworld have an airbag approved bullbar if that helps.
Considering airbags are there to save YOUR life I wouldn't turn them off for the sake of asthetics.

I know of a few that are only switched off when doing some hard wheeling... they just pull a fuse to stop the FOOOFFFF if they nudge something a bit hard, then it goes back in after they are done.
They are there for a reason though... don't forget that

DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender
