80 series vibration

Hey Guys,

i have a 1994 80 series manual 4.5 petrol.

I have recently put a 4-5" superior engineering lift on it which comprised of
caster plates
F & R panhard rods
swaybar extensions
shocks
springs
extended brake lines

when i accelerate in 1st and 2nd there is no vibration on or off the throttle but as soon as i lift off the throttle in 3rd,4th and 5th there is a horrible metallic vibration that sounds like its coming from the front. It wasnt there before i lifted it. and i have tightened everything to ensure it isnt something loose.

When i was doing the lift i also changed the front axel seal but dont think that should have anything to do with it.

any help would be greatly appreciate it.

yep thats it. Only way to get rid of it is part time kit or double cardin shaft

ok

it could be a few things

1) bushes in your radius arms and panhards are stuffed

2) new panhard is loose

they were the things that caused my 105 series to to just as you have explained.

so i replaced all the front end bushes tightened and lock tited the nuts on the adjustable panhard and put a new steering dampner on for good luck and now its great you dont have to do this but mine is getting made up at the moment but you can put a dubble cardinal shaft in from a hilux. you can by adapter plates from Luke @ www.lukeys4x4.com

are there any problems in taking my front drive shaft out? just until i put the double cardinal in there.

No problems doing that....the rear tailshaft on a hilux dual cab 4wd has a double cardon that bolts in after you shorten it...thats the cheapest way to do it.
The problem is caused by a large angle on the transfer and a straight angle on the diff...check it out....if the angles are not close to thesame, the large one will jiggle the slip joint.

yeha that sounds exactly right. i will pull the front shaft out for a while and put a double cardinal in
